Corrosion: Cold Winter Waiting is a dark, shocking, and fear charged mystery horror game, that casts the player in the role of Sheriff Alex Truman as he attempts to piece together the origins of a disturbed and unidentified car crash victim.

Set entirely underneath an idyllic country farmhouse, in the deserted and claustrophobic confines of a mysterious and secret underground complex, players will explore a place nobody knew existed, and uncover a twisted past that gets more and more terrifying with every corner turned, every door opened, and every note read.

What happened beneath Cold Winter Farm? What does it have to do with the stranger, who survived a terrible crash, only to sit and mutter the farm's name? And if the place is supposed to be deserted, who keeps opening all the doors?

Backed by atmospheric pre-rendered 3D scenes, and a chilling yet beautiful score, Corrosion: Cold Winter Waiting weaves a tangled and brutal tale of love, revenge, jealousy, and bitter rivalry to create a horror experience that will bring new meaning to the concepts of hope and trust, and leave you questioning whether what you know, is really what you know!

Corrosion: Cold Winter Waiting is a slideshow style adventure game which utilises a series of static images to provide a first person view of locations. Interaction is achieved by moving the mouse cursor around the screen to identify hotspots. When a hotspot is identified, the mouse cursor will change, and a description will appear at the top of the screen. These descriptions contain vital information, so it is important to always take note of what they say. Hotspots allow players to move position, access closeup views of certain scene areas, manipulate objects in the scene, and pickup items. A left mouse click will allow any relevant action to be performed.

This is the standard mouse cursor, indicating that no hotspot is active, and that no action can be performed.
This is the information mouse cursor indicating that a hotspot is active and is noteworthy but which cannot have an action performed on it.
This is the forward movement cursor which allows the player to move forward.
This is the left movement cursor which allows the player to turn 90 degrees to the left.
This is the right movement cursor which allows the player to turn 90 degrees to the right.
This is the look cursor which allows the player to enter a closeup view of a particular area of the scene.
This is the back movement cursor which allows the player to back out of a closeup and return to the previous view.
This is the pickup cursor which allows the player to pickup an item and add it to the inventory.
This is the active use cursor which allows the player to perform an action on a scene object or manipulate it in some way.
This is the inactive use cursor which informs the player that an action can be performed on a scene object but not at the current time. Other tasks need to be completed first.

The inventory is where all the items that the player picks up are stored. It is accessed by right clicking the mouse. Items are displayed in a single row, and there is space for 11 visible items. If the player is carrying more items than can be visible on screen at the current time, clicking the arrows at the left and right of the inventory will scroll through the items. To hide the inventory, move the cursor out of the inventory space, and right click the mouse again.

Like hotspots, a description will be displayed at the top of the screen when the mouse cursor is placed over an item. Right clicking on an item allows a closeup view of that item. To exit the closeup view, place the mouse cursor at the bottom of the screen, and then left click when the cursor changes to the back movement cursor.

Inventory items can be used on other objects in the scene. If the player left clicks an item, the mouse cursor will change to the icon of that item. The item can then be moved around the screen. To use the item on another object, place the item over the object and left click. If the item cannot be used with the desired object then nothing will happen. To return the item to the inventory, right click anywhere in the scene.

Inventory items can also be used on, and combined with, other inventory items to obtain new items. To do this, left click the inventory item, move it over another item, and then left click. If the two items can be used together, the inventory will disappear, and any new items will be automatically added to the inventory. To access the inventory again, simply right click the mouse.
